The brief
A global technology distributor wanted to help the partners in its Microsoft network run webinars - and had watched plenty of them fizzle out. The pattern is a familiar one. A partner has genuine expertise and something worth saying, blocks out a date, then discovers that getting forty of the right people to give up an hour is a completely different skill to delivering the session. Attendance disappoints, the effort feels wasted, and nobody runs a second one.
So the ask was to take the hardest part off their plate. We'd own the recruitment drive; the partner would own the session and everything that happens afterwards.
What we did
We built a repeatable recruitment engine that can be pointed at any subject and any partner, then ran it session after session across the network.
It starts with the topic. Nobody signs up to "an introduction to Business Central", but they will sign up to a session about how much time manual reporting is costing their finance team. So we reframe each subject around the problem it solves, then work back to the product. The programme has covered Business Central, Dynamics 365 CRM, Microsoft Fabric and Copilot, and the same discipline applies to all four.
From there it's a full campaign for every session rather than a single invitation email. We write and design the ad creative, run paid social to a defined audience of the right job functions and seniorities, build the registration journey, and support it with email and organic social. We test messaging as we go and shift budget towards whatever's pulling, which matters when a webinar has a fixed date and no second chances.
Then we hand over. The partner runs the session, does the follow-up, and owns the relationship with everyone in the room. That split is deliberate. Partners know their subject far better than any agency ever will, and their sales teams are the right people to have the next conversation - they just needed somebody to fill the room first.
One finding has shaped the whole programme: across the paid activity we've run for these partners, webinar-led ads consistently outperform everything else we test. People will give you their details for something genuinely useful long before they'll fill in a contact form. That's worth knowing before you spend your next budget.
